Second Chance Foods, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing unsold, un-served, and aesthetically imperfect food and distributing it in an effort to reduce food waste and food insecurity. Actions for building our Climate Smart community:
- Climate Smart Resolution passed by the Kent Town Board in October 2019
- CSC Coordinator: Town Board Member Anne Campbell [email protected]
- Participate in national or regional climate smart program – The Town is working towards designation as a NYSERDA Clean Energy Community. Some of the actions required for this program are closely related to actions taken for CSC.
- Partnerships with Other Entities: Kent Climate Smart is collaborating with Sustainable Putnam on initiatives such as a community solar campaign and community composting of food waste.
